Traveling
Doris will be in Peoria for the hearing! She is traveling today, and has several interviews scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday). If anyone in the media is reading this and would like to interview Doris, please leave your information in the comments here and I will ensure you get in touch with her.

I've read all the stories about this, and the unfortunate truth is that Mom and Dad need to be held accountable.
As for Doris, she's doing the best she can, but also enabling others to do this to her.
The Paypal accounts, etc are a scam. All the money in the world doesn't change the fact that Doris will probably not be around by the time Jonathan becomes a young adult.
Sorry if that's politically incorrect. BTW, Prayer works much better.

About the only thing you are correct about is that prayer works.
The unfortunate fact is, "Mom" is not able to care for Jonathan. She has her own disabilities to deal with. "Dad" is not in the picture and not an option. I'm not saying either of them should be as completely excused from their accountablity as they have been, but the fact is that they have been, and neither one provides any support to Doris.
As for Doris enabling others, that just doesn't make any sense at all. Doris is not in a position to "enable" anyone to do anything to her.
The Paypal account is not a scam, and there is no "etc". I understand, anytime you see a "needy" story combined with a Paypal account on the net, you automatically want to yell, "scam!", but that's not the case here at all. I set up the Paypal account, and it is linked to Doris' checking account. I set this up because after Doris' story broke, she received calls back from television and newspapers in Tulsa and Peoria saying that people were calling wanting to donate money to her and didn't know where to donate it.
However...did you SEE a Paypal donation button? No, you did not. I haven't put it on the page yet, because I have not seen any demand for it online. If there were, I would provide it. As it is, people made donations to Doris in person in Tulsa and that was it. Trust me when I say while everything she recieved was very appreciated, it's not as much as you are probably thinking.
Doris' mother is still around. Doris is 68. She could easily live until Jonathan is a young adult.
You are right that prayer works. I'm glad we can agree on that. So, if you wouldn't mind adding your prayers to this situation, that would be just as appreciated as any monetary donation.
Some people are praying for Jonathan to go home and some are praying for him to stay in "protective" custody.
ALL OF TIME people pray for cross purposes. Which way does prayer work then?
If "prayer works much better", if Doris' prayers were "answered" as she wished, Jonathan would not be in foster care.
