Doris and Jonathan, once again, are wrongly portrayed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services - this time in the national news. I have started a blog to share Jonathan and Doris' story of life in Peoria, IL with DCFS.
Anon: I know Doris. She still lives in Peoria, still hoping to one day be allowed to see Jonathan. If you have any news regarding how he is doing, she would be extremely grateful. She has been completely shut out of his life. She was not able to fund a defense for herself and the DCFS walked all over her. The court (Albert Parham, I think was the judge?)basically blamed her for any and all internet coverage and stripped her of all visitation and all rights because of it. This was the legal kidnapping of a special needs child, pure and simple. Rather than using our tax dollars to subsidize Doris as his caregiver, they just took him and falsely accused her of being negligent. She was not negligent. She was poor.
